Girls Dinner

My friends and I from grad school try to go out every week during the school year but during the summer it has been more difficult for all of us to get together. We are headed to the Cheesecake Factory for a girl's night. I am feeling a little sick so I don't think I'll be drinking anything other than club soda with lime and lemon. I am planning on getting one of their Weight Management meals. Usually I plan ahead but nothing sounds good to me right now.
Check out this article for more info about eating at the Cheesecake Factory:

Hoping Back on Track

So I need to get back to blogging and tracking my exercise and eating. My goal is to lose over 1 pound this week so I better work by booty off at the gym and eat healthy all week.

Workout: Hills Intervals on Treadmill 30 minutes

Breakfast: Kashi Honey Sunshine Cereal, Blueberries, Organic Skim Milk, Orange Juice

Lunch:Weight Watchers Giant Latte Bar, Gorden's Lemon Pepper Fish Fillet, and Green Giant Vegetable Medley

Dinner: Greek Salad- Romaine lettuce, Hummus, Kalamata Olives, Newman's Own Light Balsamic Vinaigrette, Weight Watchers Wheat Thin, Weight Watchers Mini Pretzel Bar (just like snickers!)
Snacks: Diet Pepsi (to help me through class), Nature Valley Almond Granola Bar, Bud Light Lime and Bud (forced to kill spiders--my biggest fear in the world and needed something to numb the fear)

Family Fun Time!

This weekend was the bi-annual Family reunion for my MIL's family. She is one of 5 and her father was one of 7! There are lots of people to see and meet. We had a nice time in Terre Haute, IN. We did not see much of the city but we had a nice time catching up with everyone.

It was another brutal meat full, veggie-less, sweets full weekend. There were few vegetarian options so I thought I could make up for that by eating lots of breads and sweets--bad idea. Well I promise I will be back on track this week! I gained a half pound last Saturday. I better hit the gym HARD this week. I hope to start running again this week and doing weights and abs! I hope I can really stick the plan. I did not workout this morning. Tom left at 5 am to get back to Iowa and his parents left at 7 so after all of that I went back to sleep a few hours then onto homework.
Wish me healthy strength this week!

Food for Today--

Breakfast: Blueberry, Strawberry, Banana, OJ smoothie
Lunch: Spinach, Mushroom, Biscuit with Brussell Sprouts and a Weight Watchers Ice Cream
Dinner: PB&J in class or a salad (still deciding) Apple, String Cheese, Grapes

Weight Watchers is trying to get us to eat more fruits and veggies so I branched out and got some new things like Brussel Sprouts--not too bad with salt, pepper, and garlic.

My Morning with the Elliptical

I have to admit that I enjoy cardio much more than weights and one of my favorite exercises is the elliptical. I get earn a lot more weight watchers exercise points when I do the elliptical rather than the treadmills. I get a real burn from the hills or weight loss routines that are pre-programmed on the machine. I did 35 minutes this morning and I could have gone longer if I did not have to get off to head to class. On weeks that I do the elliptical on a regular basis I seem to lose a lot more weight. I am going out to eat a lot this weekend (family reunion) and I hope that my elliptical mornings pay off on Saturday weigh in!

4th of July Pig-Out!

If I ate meat this is what my 4th of July weekend would have looked like
Imagine this pile without meat add some pizza and more chips and baked goods and this would have been my weekend. We had a great weekend with Tom's family in Indiana but I am exhausted. When I got back home I went straight to the gym! I am planning on having salad for dinner and eating well the rest of the week. I also better hit the gym hard to make sure I can enjoy all of treats we will have next weekend with the other part of Tom's family. Wish me luck!

Happy 4th of July!

Happy Birthday America! This holiday is traditionally celebrated with chips, hot dogs, hamburgers, various types of mayonnaise salads, and delicious red white and blue desserts. Since this is our first year going to a real 4th of July party and all that comes with that and the first year that we are vegetarians it should be interesting. I am also hoping that I am able to stay on track with my eating despite all of the yummy foods that will be out for the grazing.
I do know that we are having pizza twice this weekend while visiting family so I will have to be sure to try and limit my other junk food.
I hope that everyone has a safe and happy holiday weekend. Please be sure to remember our veterans and soldiers.
