Working my Way back to Weight Watchers

So I was away to Arkansas for a weekend then off on a cruise for a week, then home and sick, then to Chicago for a weekend, home last weekend, going to Arkansas this weekend. Let me say its been tough being a healthy girl with all of this traveling. I did gain some weight...oh just 3.4 pounds. Bad Bad Bad me! I know better!

I know I can't chow down on bread and butter, stuff my face with cake, and lounge around all day with a box of tissues and not pay for it in the end.

So this week--well since Saturday I've been tracking my points, eating healthy (thanks to Tom making me a pot o'chili) and exercising! I have some heel problems so I can't run like I wish--I know this is the best fat zapper, so I'm trying to kick up my walking and time on the elliptical.

I hope that I can stay on track for this loooonnnngggg Easter weekend in NWA (Thursday-Sunday)! I've got at least 3 meals out planned which always is tough, but I hope I can at least make myself take the doggy out on a few walks to help negate that weight gain. I'll be weighing in Thursday morning since I won't be here Saturday, hopefully that will help keep me on track!

A Weekend to Reconnect

Tom and I were both home for the first time in a long time. We had a lot of chores to complete like cleaning, organizing, clothes away, grocery shopping, studying, and we got to have a nice dinner out.

Saturday night we bought a Groupon for FIN Sushi in Chesterfield, MO http://www.finstl.com/, then we came home and watched Waiting for Superman. If you are at all interested in education I would highly recommend renting this movie. I think it was a little harsh on teachers without any real solutions to bad teachers, other than getting rid of unions.

Today Tom was super helpful while I freaked out about preparing for the Middle School Praxis test I have to take to transition to Arkansas. I've taken the Middle School and High School Social Studies Praxis tests for Missouri and did well, but I'm terrified about taking the Arkansas Middle School test because it has math, science, and literature arts sections. These are three things I don't feel like I have a lot of experience and confidence with. While I was taking the test Tom made some chili for me to eat for the rest of this week and finish cleaning. After I took the test we had some of the delicious chili, then took Yankee to the park. We took a 1.5 mile walk, it was beautiful out today! We checked out some cars and then came home and relaxed with some magazines on the porch. Then Tom had to go back to Chicago, which is always the worst part of the week. Hopefully, it will all be over soon.

Its been too long!

So many exciting things have been happening in our life lately this blog might change from a food blog to a life change blog....

1.  There are going to be some big changes coming our way in the next few months

2. Tom is graduating from grad school with a M.S. in Operations Management from the University of Arkansas in 3 weeks! I'm so proud of him!

3. I'm almost done with this crazy and hectic semester--also in 3 weeks. I can't wait!!

4. I've been busy trying to get my teaching certificate transferred to Arkansas.  I'm studying for the A.R. middle school social praxis test and taking Arkansas history in order to get my full certification. (wish me luck I'm taking the praxis in 2 weeks--scary!)

4. I'm so excited about the beautiful weather lately I couldn't help taking a few pictures outside of the beautiful trees
